In 1606 there was built a small house for his mistress Archbishop von Raitenau - Salome Alt. Wolf Dietrich was very fond of her, and she gave birth to 15 children archbishop.
In 1727 the house was rebuilt in the baroque palace. The building was badly damaged during a fire in 1818. Now it is the residence of the mayor and city council of Salzburg.
The greatest artistic interest is the marble staircase, decorated with figures of angels, and the Marble Hall, decorated with gold, where he performed Mozart.
Mirabell Park, adjacent to the palace, was designed in 1690 by Fischer von Erlach as a regular park. Note the funny Garden dwarf stone grotesque figure dwarfs. The building now houses the Museum of greenhouse Baroque.
